Keep Christ in Christmas Concert December 2015
Date posted: December 23, 2015
St. Joseph’s Parish Keep Christ in Christmas Concert was a Great Success!
The Knights of Columbus have received much feedback that the recent Parish Keep Christ in Christmas concert was a runaway success! For allowing the Knights to be a part of this concert, the Knights would like to thank Choir Director Jeff Cabralda and all the Parish Choirs, as well as the children and parents who made such a concert possible. As co-sponsor, the Knights aimed to spread the message – Keep Christ in Christmas through this concert. Watch out for pictures at our website: http://koc9846.vcn.bc.ca
Knights of Columbus Christmas Chior
As for the Knights’ Choir, a great many people commented that it was fantastic to HEAR and SEE so many MEN gathered together to lead the congregation in song! In today’s society, where men are all but marginalized, we, the Knights of Columbus stand apart to show our dedication to our Catholic faith and as examples to lead our families in worthy acts. If you’re interested in joining our (quite literally!) merry band of brothers, please contact the Knights of Columbus at 604-468-8205.

St. Joseph’s Annual Easter Flower Project 2015
Date posted: April 12, 2015
St. Joseph Parish of Port Moody has announced that its 22nd annual Easter Flowers distribution at Eagle Ridge Manor was another heart-warming success. The event saw 30 men, women, boys and girls from the parish volunteering to hand out flowering plants and hand-made greeting cards to residents of the long-term care facility. Organizer Terry O’Neill noted that he’s never had so many volunteers turn out for the event, which took place the morning of April 4.
“It’s very gratifying to see so much support for what’s become an Easter-weekend tradition,” O’Neill said. “It means so much to the patients to receive the flowers, the cards and, especially, the personal visits.” O’Neill also thanked Wim Vander Zalm of Art Knapp’s in Port Coquitlam for donating for daffodils.

Disastrous Supreme Court Ruling: Assisted Suicide Legalized in Canada
Date posted: February 9, 2015
Petition by LifeSiteNews.com to stop Canada’s legalization of assisted suicide. Excerpt from article below:
Canada’s Supreme Court has just overturned the country’s ban on assisted suicide, meaning that doctors will now be allowed to actively participate in bringing about the deaths of their patients.
If the colleges of physicians in places like Ontario and Saskatchewan have their way, doctors could very well be forced to end their patients’ lives.
This shocking ruling goes against the clear will of Parliament, which overwhelmingly rejected a proposal to legalize euthanasia in 2010 by a vote of 226 to 59.
Homily on Canada’s Assisted Suicide Ruling by Archbishop of Vancouver Michael Miller
Excerpt written below:
Last Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, was a sad, even tragic, day for our country. The Supreme Court of Canada aired grievously in stripping Canadians of the protection that, up until then, the law had afforded us against assisted suicide. As Canadians, we are now confronted with the sobering fact that our nation’s highest court has set itself up in direct opposition to the law of God: “Thou shall not kill.” I don’t believe we can exaggerate the gravity of this new situation in which we now find ourselves.
Among the consequences of this ruling is that the government is no longer concerned with protecting human life until its natural end; that the direct killing of another person who asked for it is legally acceptable; and that our nations publicly funded health-care system is now the place for the deliberate killings of human beings.
