Safe Environment Program

Location
St. Joseph
140 Moody Street
Port Moody, BC V3H 2P9

The purpose of the Safe Environment Program is to ensure that all adults acting either in an employee, ministerial or other paid position or a volunteer position in the Parish are role models who are called to treat each minor and vulnerable adult with respect and care.

‘Vulnerable adult’ is defined as an individual at least nineteen (19) years of age who is susceptible to abuse or exploitation by virtue of his/her significant mental or physical impairment. Vulnerable adults may also refer to the elderly.

The program addresses employees and volunteers and the need to maintain professional relationships with minors and vulnerable adults on or off parish property.

All employees and volunteers must be informed of the policies of the Archdiocese of Vancouver to create a safe and secure environment especially for minors and vulnerable adults.
